Why block spoilers before launch?

Games this big leak in the days before release. Retail copies sometimes reach people early, and on launch day the fastest players race through the story and post clips of the ending within hours. If you want to experience Lucia and Jason's story fresh, the safest move is to mute the most common spoiler keywords before November 19, 2026.

How to use the generator

  1. Choose the groups you want to block. Game names are the strongest filter but will also hide harmless posts; story spoilers and leak terms are more targeted.
  2. Add your own words if there is something specific you want to avoid.
  3. Copy or download the list, then add the words to each app using the steps below.
Muting is never perfect. Spoilers in images, video thumbnails or misspelled posts can slip through. Combine muting with a little caution, especially in the first week.

How to mute words on each app

AppWhere to muteWhat it covers
X (Twitter)Settings and privacy → Privacy and safety → Mute and block → Muted wordsPosts and notifications containing the word
TikTokSettings and privacy → Content preferences → Filter video keywordsVideos in your feeds that use the keyword
InstagramSettings → Hidden wordsComments and message requests
YouTubeNo keyword mute for viewers; use "Not interested" and "Don't recommend channel"Recommendations over time
RedditMute the game's communities from their menuPosts from those communities in your feeds

App menus change from time to time, so the exact wording may differ slightly on your device. On X you can also choose how long a word stays muted. Setting it to 30 days covers launch and the following weeks.

Tips for a spoiler-free launch week

  • Turn off notifications from gaming news accounts and group chats where people might post clips.
  • Avoid video autoplay. Thumbnails and titles are where most accidental spoilers happen.
  • Tell friends you are avoiding spoilers. Most people are happy to keep quiet.
  • Use the time well. The launch checklist and download calculator help you start playing as soon as possible, which is the best spoiler protection of all.

Spoiler etiquette if you are the one posting

If you finish the story early, help everyone else enjoy it too:

  • Use spoiler tags. On Reddit, wrap text like this: >!spoiler!<. On Discord, use ||spoiler||. Both hide the text until someone taps it.
  • Keep titles and thumbnails clean. Most accidental spoilers come from a video title or preview image, not the video itself.
  • Wait a while. Many communities ask people to avoid major story spoilers in titles for the first few weeks after launch.

Will these keywords spoil anything?

No. The list only contains names and phrases that Rockstar has already published, such as the main characters revealed on the official website, plus generic phrases like "ending" or "final mission". It does not contain any story details.

When is it safe to unmute?

There is no fixed rule, but most of the community settles down a few weeks after a big launch. A good approach is to unmute once you have finished the main story yourself. If you are a slower player, extend your mutes on X for another 30 days rather than removing them early.

Frequently asked questions

How long should I keep the words muted?

Most people finish the main story within a few weeks. Muting for 30 days after launch is a good balance.

Can I mute words on PlayStation or Xbox?

Console apps do not offer keyword muting for news and community posts the way social apps do. Avoiding the game's community feeds is the simplest option.

Is my list saved?

No. The list is built in your browser and is not sent anywhere. Download it as a text file if you want to keep it.
