What is in each GTA 6 edition
Rockstar announced two editions of Grand Theft Auto VI when pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. Both editions contain the complete game, so neither edition locks you out of story missions or parts of the map. The difference is a bundle of extra in-game items that are tied to Jason and Lucia's story.
Standard Edition — $79.99
The Standard Edition is the full game. Anyone who pre-orders or buys the game before November 20, 2026, on any edition, also receives the Vintage Vice City Pack. Reports of the listing describe it as retro '80s-style looks for Lucia and Jason, a classic 1955 Vapid Stanier and tropical-pattern weapon skins. Digital pre-orders also include one free month of GTA+.
Ultimate Edition — $99.99
The Ultimate Edition adds a larger set of digital content on top of the base game. Based on Rockstar's edition listing, that includes extra vehicles (among them a 1995 Grotti Cheetah, a 1967 Vapid Dominator Buggy, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a Shitzu Squalo boat and a Crest kayak), custom weapons, two clothing and cosmetic packs, a vehicle mod kit, and access to extra shops and businesses such as Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305 Clothing Store and Electric Fang Tattoo Shop. It also lists two bonus side activities.
Is the Ultimate Edition worth it?
For most players, the honest answer is: only if you already know you love GTA's side content. Twenty dollars buys convenience and cosmetics, not more story. If you spend hours customizing cars and outfits or tend to chase every business and side mission, the Ultimate content will feel like a head start. If you mainly play GTA for the main story, the Standard Edition gives you everything that matters.
There is also a middle path. Reports from the pre-order announcement say Standard owners will be able to upgrade to Ultimate after release. If that holds, buying Standard first and upgrading later costs you nothing but a little patience.
Prices outside the United States
The $79.99 and $99.99 figures are US prices. Each platform sets its own price for each country, and local taxes are usually included in the price you see on the store. Before you buy, check the exact price on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store or Rockstar Games Store for your own region rather than converting the US price yourself.
