The short answer
No PC release date has been announced. Rockstar has confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There are no official PC system requirements, no Steam or Epic store page from Rockstar, and no PC pre-orders.

What Take-Two has said
On Take-Two's earnings call in May 2026, CEO Strauss Zelnick repeated the company's long-standing line that its games tend to come to every platform over time. He did not give a date or confirm a GTA 6 PC version. Some coverage has connected an unnamed "platform extension" in Take-Two's upcoming release slate to a possible PC port, but that link is speculation by outside observers, not an announcement.
Rockstar's history: console first, PC later
Rockstar has a clear pattern of releasing its biggest games on consoles first:
| Game | Console launch | PC launch | Wait |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto IV | April 2008 | December 2008 | ~8 months |
| Grand Theft Auto V | September 2013 | April 2015 | ~19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 2018 | November 2019 | ~13 months |
| Grand Theft Auto VI | November 2026 | Not announced | — |
If GTA 6 follows the same pattern, a PC version would arrive some time after the console launch, likely more than a year later. But a pattern is not a promise. Rockstar could announce a PC date sooner, later, or not until the console versions have been on sale for a while.
Watch out for fake PC downloads
Scammers use big launches to spread malicious files and steal accounts. When a real PC version is announced, it will be sold through official channels such as the Rockstar Games Launcher and major PC stores, and Rockstar will announce it on its own website and social channels.
What about PC system requirements?
Rockstar has not published any. You will find "expected" or "recommended" specs on other sites, but those are guesses. Nobody outside Rockstar knows how GTA 6 will run on PC until Rockstar says so. We will add the official requirements here once they exist.
Options for PC players right now
- Wait for the PC version. Historically, Rockstar's PC releases have added higher frame rates, higher resolutions and other improvements, which some players think is worth the wait.
- Play on a console. GTA 6 is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S from November 19, 2026.
- Avoid spoilers. If you are waiting, our launch checklist has tips for muting spoilers.
How to find out the moment a PC version is announced
The only reliable sources for a PC announcement are Rockstar Games itself — its Newswire on the official website and its verified social media accounts — and Take-Two Interactive's official investor updates. Store pages on PC platforms would follow an official announcement, not come before it. We check these sources regularly and update this page whenever something official changes.
