Where to pre-order GTA 6

Rockstar lists the following official places to buy the game:

• PlayStation Store — for PS5 players.
• Microsoft Store / Xbox Store — for Xbox Series X|S players.
• Rockstar Games Store — Rockstar's own store.
• Participating retailers — major high-street and online stores in your country that sell boxed copies.

Digital vs boxed: which should you buy?

This is the one decision where GTA 6 is a little different from older games. Rockstar has confirmed that boxed copies contain a download code instead of a disc. In practice, that means:

• You need an internet connection to install the game whichever version you buy.
• A boxed copy cannot start downloading until you redeem the code. Boxed copies go on sale from November 12, the same day pre-loading begins.
• A digital pre-order starts pre-loading automatically on November 12 (if automatic downloads are on), with no extra steps.
• Digital pre-orders also come with one free month of GTA+.

If you want to be playing the minute the game unlocks, digital is the simpler route. If you prefer a box on your shelf, buy it on November 12 or have it delivered early and redeem the code straight away.

What is the Vintage Vice City Pack?

The Vintage Vice City Pack is the bonus for buying early. Rockstar says every pre-order and every purchase made before November 20, 2026 includes it, on either edition. Coverage of the announcement describes it as '80s-style retro looks for Lucia and Jason, a classic 1955 Vapid Stanier car and tropical-pattern weapon skins. In other words, it is cosmetic: nice to have, but it will not change how the game plays.

Should you pre-order at all?

There is a fair argument either way:

• Reasons to pre-order: you get the bonus pack, you can pre-load from November 12 and play the moment it unlocks, and there is no realistic risk of digital copies selling out.
• Reasons to wait: reviews will be out around launch, and since this is a digital game you will not miss out on a copy. If you buy on launch day, before November 20, you still get the Vintage Vice City Pack.

Both approaches are fine. If you are sure you want the game, pre-ordering digitally simply makes launch night smoother.

Can I cancel a GTA 6 pre-order?

Cancellation rules depend on the store, not on Rockstar. The PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store each publish their own pre-order cancellation and refund policies, and these can differ by country. Retailers have their own rules for boxed copies. Check the policy of the store you used before you buy.
